This expert association originated under the name VVEKA or Flemish association of experts for art and antiquities, which was founded on March 27, 1980.
In order to offer the association more space and to go beyond the Flemish borders, it was decided in 2004 to change the name and statutes. modify.
This is how the current name was created: AAEIA or Arts and Antiques Experts International Association.
Since its founding, the chairmanship has been held by the following experts: Martinus Janssens, Jan De Maere, Luc De Booser, Jef Dupain, Torkild Malfait, Philippe Burin, Luc Cannoot, Rudiger Heselmans.
